The Brora Pullover is named for a village I visited in the Scottish Highlands where I knitted the yoke of this sweater and explored the hilly seaside landscape, encountering herds of sheep along the way. This sweater design is a simple one piece project knit from the top down in a circular yoke fashion. The paired back nature of this sweater allows the yarn’s characteristics to shine.
This is a purchase of digital pattern instructions to knit this item, not a physical product.
construction
The Brora Pullover is worked top-down in the round, beginning with a tubular cast on and 1x1 ribbed collar. The stitches increase gradually throughout the circular yoke. The sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is worked and finished with a split ribbed hem and tubular bind off. The sleeve stitches are placed back on the needles, gradually decreasing to the cuff and finishing with a ribbed cuff and tubular bind off, repeating for the other sleeve.
